Families were interviewed to understand meal planning and grocery shopping habits, followed by surveys to gather data on diet preferences, and an analysis of meal delivery services and competitors to identify market strengths and areas for improvement.
Together with the UX research team I identified key insights based on the research methods stated above
Using affinity diagramming to identify common themes and patterns from research data, creating a user journey map to visualize grocery shopping and meal planning processes, and defining a clear problem statement based on the gathered insights.
This customer journey map is the synthesis of the insights of the research efforts as described above. The problem statement is that families find weekly meal planning and grocery shopping time-consuming and stressful, lacking customizable solutions for their diverse dietary needs and preferences.

Conducting brainstorming sessions with stakeholders, creating concept sketches of the app's interface, develop low-fidelity prototypes, and gather user feedback through testing.
Concept sketching and development focused on dietary preferences, a weekly meal planning tool, and ingredient management. Continuous rounds of user testing revealed that the dietary preferences questionnaire should initiate the flow, followed by a planning tool offering suggested recipes based on those preferences. Finally, a complete ingredient list is generated and added to the basket in one step.

The solution is a planning tool that suggests weekly meals based on personal preferences and allows for easy customization of the recommended recipes, enabling families to efficiently plan a series of weekly meals and add these to basket.
